PROTEIN CINNAMON BUNS
Are you excited for fall..? 'Cause we know we sure are!
These Protein Cinnamon Buns are THE recipe you need to completely fall into the fall vibes (see what we did there?). We guarantee you they taste amazing, plus they're high in protein and will make your house smell amazing. Say hello to the perfect baking activity for those chilly nights where all you crave is a sweet, warm and comforting snack.
Ingredients (6-7 buns)
Dough :
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (+ more for rolling the dough)
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 1 scoop Maple Brown Sugar isolate protein
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (or to taste)
- 2 tbsps sugar free syrup
- 1 cup 0% fat plain greek yoghurt
Cinnamon filling :
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsps brown sugar
- 2-3 tbsps stevia
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar free syrup
Glaze :
- 1/4 cup 0% fat plain greek yoghurt
- 2 tbsps sugar free syrup
- 1/2 scoop Maple Brown Sugar isolate protein
- 1 tbsp cinnamon (or to taste)
Preparation
- Start by preparing the dough. Mix all the ingredients together, until you get a soft dough ;
- Spread some flour on a clean, even surface like a counter or cutting board and spread the dough flat on top with your hands ;
- Once your dough is flat and spread to about a 15 cm x 30 cm size, put it aside and prepare the filling ;
- To make the filling, simply mix every ingredient together ;
- Spread a thin, even layer on the surface of the dough ;
- Roll the dough to form a cylinder shape, and cut into 6-7 rolls ;
- Grease a pan and flace the rolls next to one another ;
- Air fry at 325°F for 18-20 minutes ;
- While the buns are cooking, prepare the glaze by mixing all the ingredients together in a bowl ;
- Take the buns out of the air fryer, pour the glaze on top and enjoy while it's still warm or store in the fridge.
